“At the start of the year I finally decided that I was bored and tired of being identified as that “fat kid with man boobs” and committed to making a change.

Growing up I was always overweight and it was something that I was picked on and bullied a lot for. I’d been known as the lad with boobs and had been called fat for so long that it was just what I identified myself as.

I’d always had a keen interest in the gym and training but my bad eating habits meant I never lost weight. I’d follow plans for four weeks or so but soon after, fall off track and go back to old ways.

At the start of the year I finally decided that I was bored and tired of being identified as that “fat kid with man boobs” and committed to making a change.

I knew that I needed something to work towards and that I could use as motivation so I chatted through my goals with Joe. We decided that a photoshoot would be a great option – after 20 weeks I would step out of my comfort zone and stand in front of a camera doing something I never dreamed I would do.

There were always times throughout that would feel like going off track especially living away from home at college with limited food options available but gave me structure and a nutrition and training plan that was able to fit around my lifestyle.

This whole experience really has changed my outlook on fitness I can now finally say that I’m happy with my body and how I look, which is something I never thought I’d be able to say. It has also massively influenced my lifestyle more generally as this is now something that I plan to pursue as a career.

Stepping out of my comfort zone and making it happen has honestly been one of the best things I’ve ever done but I would never have been able to make these changes without the continuous support from Joe!”
