Are you maximising your off-season?
Your trousers becoming tighter, feeling soft, the outline of your abs disappearing, nervous at the thought of taking your clothes off, the thought of losing that body I worked so hard far …
None of us are alone in our fear of feeling fat in this but it’s important to remember that in order to make some serious #gains we need to take our foot of the gas, accept the fact we cannot be lean year round and focus our efforts on maximising our ‘off-season’ season.
The benefits?
- Greater capacity to build muscle
- More energy
- More food
- Better recovery and sleep
- Fuller physique
- Better hormonal profile
And despite what people may think, the off-season isn’t about eating as much as humanely possible. The people that think this way will end up fat, making no progress and end up having to work 10x as hard to get anywhere near as lean as they once were.
So what’s the answer? Have a clear strategy and game plan, which will enable you to keep BF % lower and muscle mass potential, energy, performance and caloric ceiling higher.
Embrace this period and enjoy the flexibility. Don’t be afraid of this phase as it’s an essential component for development and progress and will DICTATE how you look next year, not to mention that trying to stay lean for 365 days of the year sucks!
So with that in mind, have a GREAT weekend guys.
